What it is

A dubbing tool for narrated video

What 4dub does

4dub is a web app that dubs narrated video. You upload a video you own or have the rights to, choose supported source and target languages, and 4dub transcribes the speech, translates it, and speaks the translation in a synthetic voice timed to each line. You review and edit the lines, then download the dubbed video with subtitles.

Signing in with Google

Google sign-in is optional and is used only to create your 4dub account and sign you in. 4dub receives your name, email address and profile picture, and nothing else: it never reads your Gmail, Drive, YouTube or other Google data, and Google user data is never sold, used for ads or used to train AI models.

No images or intimate content

4dub works on speech and subtitles only. It does not generate or alter images, faces or bodies, offers no lip sync, face swaps or voice cloning, and uses no Google service for any of this. Sexual or intimate content, including non-consensual intimate imagery, real or AI-generated, is prohibited, and accounts that upload it are closed.

How it works

Easy to dubTrue to your words

Upload your video, choose a target language, and get a dub with subtitles.

  1. 01

    Choose your audience

Upload your video, select its spoken language and choose a target language or region. See the exact price before you start.

  2. 02

    Get your first dub

Get a translated voice-over timed to your speakers, plus subtitles in both languages. Your original video stays intact.

  3. 03

    Make every line yours

Adjust the wording, voice or timing on the timeline. Preview each edit free, then re-render for $0.60 a minute and download the finished video.

Keep the final sayon every line

Make a phrase sound more natural. Give a speaker a different voice. Leave a little more room for a sentence. Every line is yours to edit, preview and refine on the timeline.

Every line under your control
Bienvenidos al próximo capítulo.
01 / SourceStart with the line

Keep the original words beside the translation.

02 / TranslateRefine the phrase

Edit the translation to fit your audience.

03 / TimingFind its place

Review the speaker and timing on the timeline.

04 / PreviewHear it first

Preview your edit before applying the render.

The 4dub editor: the video with the Spanish dub playing, a timeline with the speaker's lane and every line as a block, and the inspector with the English line, the Spanish translation, its fit meter, the voice and a rewrite suggestion.

Ask AI to rewrite a line

Select a translated line and ask for “shorter” or “more conversational.” AI suggests a rewrite and marks the changes. Accept it or keep your current translation.

Hear it before you pay

Play any edited line in its new voice right in the editor. Previews are free; credit is spent only when you re-render.

A voice per speaker or per line

Each speaker gets their own lane and their own voice. Override a single line when one sentence needs a different read.

Timing on a real timeline

Drag a line’s edges to move or stretch it. The fit meter tells you when a translation is too long for the time it has.

Compare and restore

Every render is a numbered version. Read two side by side with the changed words marked, and restore an earlier take in one click.

Everything downloads

The dubbed mp4 and subtitles in both languages, for every version you keep, plus your original upload.

Questions

Before you upload

Which languages can I dub into

Choose from dozens of languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi and Arabic. The studio lists the supported source languages and the target languages with available voices. Some languages are available as targets only; regional variants are listed separately.

Is it lip sync

No. 4dub makes a voice-over dub, not lip sync: the picture is untouched, and a new voice speaks the translation over it, timed line by line. That suits courses, screencasts, product demos and narrated video best.

What does a re-render cost

$0.60 per minute of video, however many lines you changed. The editor shows the number of changed lines and the exact price before you confirm, and previewing a line while you edit costs nothing.

What if a run fails

You are not charged. Credit is held when a run starts and returned in full if it fails, and your last good version stays playable and downloadable.

How are minutes counted

By the whole video’s length, rounded up to the next tenth of a minute. A 4:33 video is billed as 4.6 minutes: $13.80 to dub and $2.76 per re-render.

Who can see my videos

Your uploads, dubs and subtitles are private to your account. There are no public links: playback and downloads use short-lived links issued only to you, and deleting a project deletes its media. The privacy policy lists who processes it on our behalf.
